
The high-energy choreography of the Hei-Notes, 探花精选鈥檚 show choir, will meet the sweet sounds of the Jazz Ensemble in a performance on the Gundlach Theatre stage at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 22.
Under the direction of Dr. Margaret Thiele, the Hei-Notes (formerly the Singing Collegians), will perform a series of contemporary numbers around the theme 鈥淪ongs of Courage,鈥 including 鈥淥pening Up鈥 from the musical 鈥淲aitress鈥 and 鈥淓verybody Says Don鈥檛鈥 from the musical 鈥淎nyone Can Whistle.鈥 The Hei-Notes鈥 repertoire also includes 鈥淪ome Nights,鈥 鈥淎lways Starting Over鈥 from the musical 鈥淚f/Then,鈥 鈥淚magine鈥 and 鈥淚鈥檓 Still Standing.鈥 Accompanists will be Curtis King along with the Jazz Ensemble.
The Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Scott Kretzer, adjunct instructor of music, also will perform 鈥淏lue Madness鈥 by Doug Beach, 鈥淗ayburner鈥 by Sammy Nestico, 鈥淥ne Mint Julep鈥 by Rudolph Toombs, 鈥淛eannine鈥 by Duke Pearson and Running of the Bulls by Beach and George Shutack.
