This year, the Concert Choir’s concert theme is Oh! The Places You’ll Go. For the first time in over a decade, the Concert Choir will be traveling abroad – to Hungary and the Czech Republic– and the places on our itinerary include Budapest, Brno, and Prague! Musically, our concert repertoire is organized in a way that seeks to recognize and honor the musical heritage of the countries we will be visiting while simultaneously sharing America’s distinctive musical culture.

The ̽����ѡ Concert Choir, the premiere choral ensemble of the university’s School of Music & Theatre, will perform its home concert Friday, April 26, at 7:30 p.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church.

Under the direction of Dr. Greg Ramsdell, director of choral activities and associate professor of choral music education, and accompanied by Cynthia Ramsdell, the 51-member vocal choir will present a concert with the theme “Oh! The Places You’ll Go” in anticipation of its international tour to Europe in May 2019.

Due to the impending winter storm, all of the weekend events with the School of Music & Theatre on Heidelberg’s campus have been postponed. The same schedule will be followed on the rescheduled dates. If for any reason you are unable to attend please let us know and we would be happy to arrange a full refund.

Honor Band is rescheduled for Sunday, February 17. 

Join us from June 9-15, 2019 for ̽����ѡ’s Music & Theatre Summer Camp! We’re welcoming high school students to campus for a week to explore their music and theatre interests and to make memories and new friends. 

̽����ѡ’s School of Music & Theatre is getting ready to host its 27th annual TubaChristmas on Sunday, Dec. 16.

Local and area tuba and euphonium players of all ages are invited to come together on that day to perform a program of traditional Christmas carols especially arranged by American composer Alec Wilder. Jon Waters, assistant professor of music and director of bands, is conducting TubaChristmas.

For those who would like to perform in TubaChristmas, the schedule is as follows:

Registration ($10 fee) and rehearsal – 1 p.m.

̽����ѡ has maintained a tradition of presenting portions of G.F. Handel’s Messiah during the Christmas season. This year, the School of Music & Theatre will combine its 128th performance of Messiah with a festive journey around the world to celebrate the sounds and ceremonies of the season. The annual concert, Joy to the World: A Heidelberg Christmas, will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9, at the Ritz Theatre.
